About these terms
LAYERS (layerskit.com) is run by Sebastian R in New Zealand. These terms apply when you use the site, including the outfit builder, your account, saved outfits and the Journal. By using LAYERS you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the site. How we handle your information is covered in our Privacy & cookies policy.
What LAYERS is
LAYERS helps you plan a snow kit and compare prices across retailers. We don't sell anything. When you tap Buy, you go to the retailer's website, and any purchase is between you and that retailer, on their terms: price, payment, delivery, returns and warranty are all handled by them. Questions or complaints about an order should go to the retailer.
LAYERS earns a commission from some retailers when you buy through our links. It doesn't change the price you pay, and it doesn't decide which price we show as the best: that's the lowest current price we have for your country.
Prices and product information
- Prices, sale prices, stock and product details come from retailers and are updated regularly, but they can change at any time. We show when each price was last checked.
- The price on the retailer's website at checkout is the one that applies. Please check details such as size, colour and delivery there before you buy.
- Product images and drawings are for guidance and may not match the item exactly.
- We try to keep everything accurate but can't guarantee that every price or detail is correct, complete or current.
Suggestions and the Journal
Suggestions in the builder and articles in the Journal are general information to help you choose, not professional advice. Snow sports carry risk: check fit, sizing and safety standards (especially for helmets and goggles) with the brand or retailer before you buy and ride.
Your account and saved outfits
- An account is optional. If you create one, use an email address you control and keep access to it secure.
- Outfits saved without an account are stored only in your browser and can be lost if you clear your browser data.
- Products can disappear from saved outfits when retailers stop selling them.
- You can download your data or delete your account at any time from the Account page.
Using the site fairly
Please don't:
- use LAYERS for anything unlawful, or to harass, mislead or harm others;
- scrape, crawl or copy the site or its prices in bulk, or use bots or automated tools on it;
- generate fake visits or Buy clicks, or interfere with how retailers credit purchases;
- try to get around our security, access other people's accounts, or upload anything harmful;
- copy or republish our content, design or logo without our written permission.
We may suspend or close accounts, or block access, if these terms are broken.
Content and trademarks
The LAYERS name, logo, site design, drawings and Journal articles belong to LAYERS. Product names, photos, brand names and logos belong to their owners and are shown to help you identify and compare products; their use doesn't mean the brand endorses LAYERS. If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them without owing you anything.
Other websites
LAYERS links to retailers and other websites we don't control. We aren't responsible for their content, products, prices, privacy practices or service. Please read their terms before you buy.
Our responsibility to you
Nothing in these terms limits your rights under consumer law that can't be excluded, including the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 and the Fair Trading Act 1986 in New Zealand, the Australian Consumer Law, and the consumer laws of the UK, EU and Canada where they apply to you.
LAYERS is free to use and is provided as it is. We work to keep it running and accurate but can't promise it will always be available or error-free. As far as the law allows, we aren't responsible for losses arising from purchases you make from retailers, from prices or details that turn out to be wrong or out of date, or from the site being unavailable.
Changes
We may update LAYERS and these terms as the site grows. We'll change the date at the top when we do, and if you have an account we'll tell you by email before any important change takes effect. If you keep using LAYERS after a change, the new terms apply. You can stop using LAYERS and delete your account at any time.
Law
These terms are governed by New Zealand law, and the New Zealand courts can hear disputes about them. If you live elsewhere, you keep any protections the law of your home country gives you that can't be changed by agreement.
